We could meet in the old town and grab a beer somewhere, there are multiple good places even a craft brewery which you usually dont see a lot in germany
I'm close enough to Frankfurt to make it either day but I will leave the planning there to someone who lives there. I'm guessing the end of the trip will be more likely.
We met last year in Budapest and I notice we happen to be in Warsaw at the same time. Had fun at the meetup last time, if there is something happening in Warsaw I’d love to join, schedules permitting.
I definitely don't mind doing the meetup later. However, the nearby biergartens I found via Google Maps close at 11:00 PM, so if we are going to meet after 10 PM it may make sense to go to a different type of establishment, such as a bar.
There are a few restaurants nearby that open until late. This Indian restaurant seems to offer a wider range of non-alcoholic beverages compared to the typical German restaurant:
I'm in Frankfurt and would be pleased to help organize something. Assuming there's more flexibility at the end of the tour... my uncreative first suggestion would be a group dinner at an Apfelweinlokal in Sachsenhausen or elsewhere; alternatives could include a park picnic, ice cream parlor (which are surprisingly serious business in Germany), or any other good ideas others have.
Just walked the area. I think the best option nearby is Orange Beach, which is a 20 min walk from your hotel. Outdoor seating by the river, typical German food. It’s probably not the best choice for maximizing attendance, as the area is not particularly well-connected by transit, but at the end of a long tour, getting to your hotel under your own power may be worth it. Let me know if you want to iterate.
Not my usual corner of the city so I'll plan on scoping some of these options out in person this weekend, but Orange Beach (more casual, sausages + beer overlooking the Main) or Maximilians or Gaststätte Eden (classic Biergarten) seem like good options.
Ah, just seeing above that you don't drink--I think these options are still viable, the Biergartens will serve a full menu, and should be pretty quiet on a Tuesday evening. But let me know if something different appeals.
Looking very much forward to see you in Hannover! Not a local, though - but a stroll along The Nanas to the Pfannkuchen-haus? (They do steaks, too.) https://www.visit-hannover.com/en/view/content/507923/full/0/800566
I'll be in Hannover in the afternoon, too, as will one or two friends who'd also be down to meet. Is there a more concrete schedule for the Sunday?
Nothing planned yet. Maybe something after dinner?

How about a beer garden? I don't actually drink but really like the atmosphere.
Sure, sounds good!
Know a place to recommend? Maybe 8 PM?
Wow! Your itinerary reminds me the old line about European travel in the late 1960s: "If this is Tuesday, we must be in Belgium."

Yes, at the end will work better.
I am also in Frankfurt and would be interested in meeting.
See my response farther down in the thread--if you have suggestions for a place near the Messe/Gallus, it'd be most welcome!

Let me know if there's anything I can help with for the Berlin meetup. I actually recently created a Meetup group for fans of your writing https://www.meetup.com/bet-on-it-overcoming-bias-marginal-revolution-more/
Cool, maybe something after dinner?
Sounds good!
One issue: I really want to see the Berlin Philharmonic at 8 PM. Probably out by 10 PM. Can you work around that?

I don't drink, so are there any late-night restaurants nearby? Any place quiet is good.

I'm staying at the Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade. Could you find a good biergarten nearby for say a 9 PM meet-up?
Can also help coordinate this. Looking forward to meeting up!
Happy to see you on the 24th of June in Berlin
See you in Wrocław!
And Warsaw!
Cool, let's plan on AMRIT Restaurant Schoneberg at 10:30 PM.
No Switzerland?
Not this time.
:-(
C'mon, it's just 4hrs by car or train to Munich.
More like 5hrs for me, from Bern. Very tempting though.
Will be there in Frankfurt on June 4. Looking forward to meeting you.
At the Istanbul Fisch Grill? I'll try to post an update once we clear customs.
Any place in Frankfurt is fine for me, Istanbul Fisch Grill or somewhere else.
We'll be there at roughly 3 PM. If you email me, I'll try to send you an alert when we're heading over.
I‘m living in hannover if you want to meet up or need a tour guide
organising would maybe be possible, not sure
See if you can coordinate something with Mark and Jasper (above). After dinner is most likely best for me.
Time and location for Linz are now in the body of the post (above).

I'm staying at the Holiday Inn Express Frankfurt Messe. Could you find something nearby around 9 PM on June 27?

Yup, I’ll report back with some options in the next few days.

OK, I'll post an update once I know more.
Ok, let’s do Orange Beach.
Delayed 7 min!
Be there at 9:15
No Amsterdam?
Not this time.
Are you planning any event in Munich or just visiting the city?
Nothing planned now, but available to meet.
Great! I see if I can organize something. Please let me know your plans for the day once you have them.
Can you find a good biergarten in the downtown area for say 5:30 PM? Then I can announce.
I’ve just emailed you on gmu.edu.
Sure, please email me directly.
Will the speaking event in Vienna be open to anyone?
Yes!
Amazing.
Any particular event in Poznan?
No, just a nice stop between Warsaw and Berlin. Unless you want to organize something!
I do! I emailed you some suggestions :)
