One of my arguments for eliminating zoning is that I would like a pub on our street. One of the arguments in favor of zoning is that they dont want a pub on our street. They just seem obviously wrong.
The toll highway near us works great but I wish it did something more like micropayments for really short trips on non-peak travel. Instead its a flat fee even if your driving a short distance on an empty highway.
I kind of wish we'd get more nudges towards work from home. It reduces traffic and raises professional class TFR. If Musk can get EVs in the carpool lane he's got to give up on this slave in the office bullshit.
At least in my context I’ve been in an entirely work from home department and industry for over a decade. I don’t see any productivity decrease. I think 90% of what people do at the office is waste.
But that might be my situation. Our work from home experiment isn’t natural, people were forced to do it by outside forces, obviously there are some contexts in which that didn’t make sense.
Does zoning sometime make us drive more by keeping retail and restaurants away from where we live?
Yes.

I kind of wish there was a way to prevent the significant loss of productivity for most work from home employees.
