Don't Be a Feminist: The Montz Interview

Here’s another outstanding Rob Montz production, a wide-ranging interview on feminism, academia, and more.

Granted, the video’s title (“Don’t Let Your Daughter Be a Feminist”) is a bit weird, because no one can actually withhold permission from anyone to believe an idea. To belabor the obvious, whether my daughter becomes a feminist is totally her choice. And while I could withhold permission to discuss the issue (“Not under my roof, you won’t!”), that’s the opposite of how I raise my kids. Instead, I embrace a policy of friendly candor. Even if one of my kids asks a classically disgusting question at dinner, the worst I’ll say is, “Let’s talk about it after we’re done eating.”

Just because my daughter has a choice, though, doesn’t mean that I don’t care what she chooses…
