By the power of Jonah Franks of Public Intellectuals for Charity, I’m soon travelling to Vanderbilt University to publicly debate Emergent Ventures winner Matthew Adelstein on the existence of God. Adelstein’s for, I’m against.
Location: Alumni Hall Classroom 201, Vanderbilt University
Time: Friday, April 12, 12:00-1:30 PM
Open to the public, and yes the event will be livestreamed.
In my youth, the existence of God was one of my top issues. I was the classic village atheist, hounding believers to debate me. Over time, though, I’ve totally stopped hounding them. Why? Because we live in a miraculous age, where the secular religion of wokism is breathing down my neck, while the traditional religions of the West assiduously leave me in peace.
My fantasy is that I live to see a world where the woke show as little interest in sharing their ideas with unbelievers as the American Christians of today. Verily, I say unto you, the apathy of the dogmatic is divine.
Still, I’m as happy as ever to thoughtfully discuss the existence of a Perfect Being. Here are my most recent thoughts on the issue, and here is Adelstein pre-refuting me.
Hope to see you in Nashville!
Wow this adelstein guy is really smart and good looking
By the way, Adelstein's a former highly confident atheist turned agnostic because of his in-depth study of the philosophy of religion. So he's not a true believer yet!
