Great one!

In my earlier 20s I read a lot of the Marxist / Critical Theory literature and I found there are a number of authors with genuinely novel insights and nuance (a lot of garbage too of course).

I like debate between people with very different viewpoints - if you have a good candidate to debate the above with (Emmanuel has passed it seems), most welcome again on my podcast!

Not sure why I just got a notification of this post now, but it's interesting to reflect on events since this was written:

'Why do First World countries restrict the import of labor far more than the export of capital? Because “Foreigners live among us” provokes a far more visceral public reaction than, “Capitalists are investing abroad.” Far from promoting immigration restrictions, Big Business is the First’s World most influential pro-immigration lobby.'

Trump is the first politician to my mind to also play to the second investing abroad point, though perhaps not surprising as he also doubled down on the first relative to prior republican candidates.
