Congratulations on the new book release!

I am curious, how much of a distinction do you think there is between politicians being evil and politics itself being an evil activity (if sometimes necessary)? That is, politicians are evil because politics itself selects for evil, as opposed to just lots of bad actors being drawn to politics.

I made a small case that politics itself is evil in an essay a few months back (https://dochammer.substack.com/p/politics-is-evil?s=w) that politics is inherently evil the same way war is inherently evil, because they are the same thing. I don't know that I would make the case that generals are evil simply because they engage in warfare, but I would agree that generals who seek to expand wars to benefit themselves are evil. So I lean a little more towards politics being evil and tends to select for evil politicians, as opposed to politicians being inherently evil.

Anyway, looking forward to the book! It is nice to have essays organized in one place for reference if nothing else.

Ordered. I'm always excited to add new books to my bookshelf for Tinder dates to casually read the title and watch their reaction. Great filtering mechanism.

Congrats on the book. The book includes the chapter titled "Tell me the difference between Jim Crow and immigration restrictions".

That got me thinking:

If you were to sell open borders to a black person who experienced the Jim Crow South how would you do it?
