How Ann Marie Caplan saw her life in the 80s
Back in the 80s, my mom’s creative writing teacher gave her students an odd assignment: write your own obituary. This was my mom’s submission, 40 years prior to her own death. Nice to see that she endorses my “non-conformist” descriptor, though it’s pretty clear that she was a feminist as well.

Your mom could have benefited from this 2022 episode of Econtalk with Roland Fryer in which he shares his method for getting his kids to take out their dishes. Fine them a dollar if they don’t.
