I like it, but it doesn't communicate the point (which your book does) that the Boss's credentialism isn't stupid - by-and-large, smart and competent people get degrees and less competent people don't. Credentialism them becomes a filter for (minimal) competence.
The degree doesn't change their competence, but it signals it.
